Ordered a set of these inserts for our 2 MiBowls. One for a cat with obesity who needs low-cal food and one for an allergy cat with very expensive veterinary prescribed food. Did not initially realize that the stainless steel insert is made to go INSIDE of the original plastic insert rather than replace it. It makes the food easier for the cats to reach when eating (the insert is less deep), but makes it so I have to refill the inserts quite a bit more often. I was initially also planning on rotating using the plastic and stainless steel inserts, but after finding out that the steel insert is used with the plastic, will have to buy another set of the steel inserts. Ends up being a very expensive venture with 2 of the MiBowls and 2 sets of stainless steel inserts (about $500), but will hopefully keep the cats healthy.
