Description

Elite Microchip Cat Flap with Timer Control White 355W

Give your cats secure, independent access to your home with the Cat Mate Elite Microchip Cat Flap with Timer Control. This smart pet door uses your cats’ unique microchips—or Cat Mate I.D. Discs (sold separately)—to allow selective entry, helping keep out stray cats and other unwanted animals while letting your pets come and go with confidence.

Designed for small- to average-sized cats, the flap supports up to 9 registered cats, making it ideal for multi-cat households. While all pets can exit freely, only registered cats are allowed back inside, ensuring controlled, secure entry.

The intuitive 4-way locking system lets you choose how the flap operates—in and out, in-only, out-only, or fully locked—while the built-in timer allows you to set a nighttime curfew or limit access during specific hours. An integrated LCD display provides clear, at-a-glance information, including lock status, your cats’ current location, and the time since the flap was last used for up to three selected cats.

A fully brush-sealed flap with magnetic closure helps reduce drafts and weather intrusion, keeping your home quieter and more comfortable year-round.

Note: The design of this door allows any animals to exit through the flap when in "out only" or "in/out" mode. For control over entry and exit the Cat Mate Elite I.D. Disc Cat Flap (Ref 305W) would be the better option.

Upgrade suggestion

We have been using these doors for many years, first with the magnets on the collars and now a chip reader. The main issue is raccoons can learn over time to bounce open the door and gain entry.

As an engineer I come up with same changes to stay ahead in this arms/paw race. Several nights ago the first raccoon came through.

Might I suggest an active mechanism on the entry direction (as it now is) AND an active latch on the exit. The raccoon is bouncing the door open from outside far enough get a claw underneath and open.

(Chip reader works great)
Thanks

Best on the market! Cats wear breakaway collars, so having it read their internal microchip is priceless

Works like a charm! Neighborhood cats stay out, my own come in. No problem reading their implanted chips.

A little confusing

These were easy to install after I cut the hole in our door. It works fairly well once our cat learned to wait for the sound of the lock releasing. Cats pretty much have to push it with their heads. The instructions on programming could be better. One direction seems easier for the lock to open than the other even though I have both ways open. Hopefully our older cat will take it up as easy as the young one. One last note is that the flap comes down quickly after they go through. It seems to land on his tail and I'm not sure if it bothers him or not.

Freedom for Kitty

Works very well. Nice to have a timed feature to curfew our kitty for the night. Although she sometimes wakes us up by banging on the flap before the set time to open. The door was fairly easy to install except for the added draft seal required in paneled door. Once in a while it seems to get stuck and won't let the cat in using her chip. Pushing the flap from the inside seems to get it going again. This is infrequent but annoying. The biggest issue so far has been the free access it gives her to bring in all sorts of critters from outside including bunnies, birds, chipmunks and mice which we have to capture and release back outdoors. Needs a critter detector.
